Our infrastructure planning department supports infrastructure projects in large and medium sizes around the country, aiming at reducing congestion, travel time, contaminants, creating a better link between populations centers and providing answers to residents’ needs at the heart of the cities. The projects have a significant impact on the fabric of life in the neighborhood, city and metropolis. Some of the projects hold an actual national significance.
Projects that impact the quality of life of the residents in the cities and periphery; the quality of life of all of us.
The company’s environmental planning team has vast experience and knowledge to support the projects from their early planning stages (drafting environmental documents and Environment Impact Surveys), during which they are referring to the preservation of the existing environment as much as possible and reducing the damage done to it, while holding a long-term view of the environmental impacts that the project and its operation would have.
Through the detailed planning stages – providing the needs of the immediate surroundings from environmental aspects (reducing dust and noise pollution, reducing the physical damage around the work areas with taking into account ecology and landscape, etc.)
All the way to supporting the execution of complex engineering projects in the field; answering complaints; overseeing infrastructure work and providing immediate solution to various issues created by engineering work at close proximity to a crowded urban environment, near urban natural sites – green lungs – and working next to open areas such as national parks and reservations.
We can balance the needs of the engineering projects and keeping the interests of the natural and urban environment, while finding the way to execute complex projects with national importance and protecting the environment and the fabric of life in both nature and the city.
ENVISION
A standard for sustainable infrastructures –
This standard was born out of the collaboration between Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure, Harvard. The standard represents innovative thinking in the field of sustainability in infrastructure and aids the professionals in planning and executing more sustainable infrastructure projects by defining an objective framework of criteria meant to help identify sustainable solutions to planning, establishing and operating of infrastructure projects.
The standard fits all types of infrastructure since it does not deal with infrastructure itself but rather the way it is impacting its physical, economic and human surroundings.
ESD supports the first project of its kind in the Middle East, striving to be certified and officially acknowledged by said standard.
Supervision and Execution
Execution-support team is supporting infrastructure rich projects from the environmental aspect on all level of execution and a range of roles, whether on behalf of the of the operating contractor, the management company or entrepreneur.

Infrastructure Planning
Environmental planning of infrastructures – preparing Environmental Impact Surveys/Environmental documents analyzing the impact of the infrastructure as well as providing solutions to minimize these effects, support based on standards for sustainable infrastructures.
Supporting infrastructure execution – preparing environmental support documents in accordance with the projects and all entrepreneur required disciplines. Closely supporting contractors in the field and providing minimizing solutions for environmental impacts and issues during the establishment of the infrastructure, overseeing the entire field, presence in planning meetings as part of the supporting team.
Air Quality
Inspecting air contaminants in the environment is required for environmental oversight on the emission sources and their qualification of the air quality standards, as set in the Clean Air Regulations, 2011.
Many outline plans, new infrastructures and urban building schemes are required to predict the impact of their plans on future contaminant concentration, based on the function they are bound to fill.
ESD’s Environment Studies team provides services in the air quality field while using advanced simulation programs approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, alongside managing, controlling and analyzing the database accepted from the monitoring stations and meteorological stations spread around the country, by highways, trains, focal emission sources, etc. The work is done in coordination with and according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
